Emmanuel Lemoine was born in Libourne and grew up in the middle of the Right Bank vineyards of Bordeaux. As a child, he was already helping at his family’s estate, Château Bel-Air La Graviere. During his teenage years, he learned vineyard management and winemaking techniques in Saint-Emilion and Pomerol. He then attended business school and spent summers working for various French wine retailers before deciding to focus his career on the marketing and sales of fine wine. In 2000, he earned a master’s degree in the international wine trade in Beaune and Dijon, Burgundy. After three years promoting French wines in Southern California for Bercut Vandervoort, he moved to San Francisco to cover Northern California for Vineyard Brands, one of the most prestigious US wine importers. Ten years quickly passed, but due to family reasons, he moved back to Bordeaux to cover the Americas for one of the leading negociants of Grands Cru Classés, Ballande & Meneret. Almost two years later, he moved to Aix-en- Provence to join Famille Perrin as Brand Ambassador.

The Wines…
Rosé “Studio By Miraval”, Château Miraval, Provence, France, 2021
Pretty pale-pink, very limpid colour with bluish reflections. This wine offers a very elegant nose with delicate notes of grapefruit and white flowers. Fresh and well-balanced, the palate is lively and reveals seductive aromas of citrus and sea iodine. A blend of Grenache, Vermentino, Cinsault and Tibouren.
Châteaunuef-de-Pape “Blanc” “Les Sinards”, Famile Perrin, Southern Rhône Valley, France, 2019
Medium straw. Smell: Fresh nose of citrus. Taste: Delicate, balanced. Acid medium. Primary fruit notes of peach and citrus, secondary note of bee pollen and a clove finish. Complex white wine with multiple layers. Has special arômes like licorice and pollen. Mineral wine with an earthy touch, typical from a Côtes du Rhône.A blend of Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Clairette.
Gigondas “La Gille”, Famile Perrin, Southern Rhône Valley, France, 2019
La Gille 2019 is a full-bodied, elegant 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah red wine blend produced from grapes sourced in the Gigondas, Rhône Valley wine region. Vines grow in limestone, calcareous marl and sandy soils, giving the Grenache finesse and elegance. After the malolactic fermentation and blending, the wines were aged in oak foudres and barrels for one year. Fragrant on the nose with violets, anise, dark cherry, blueberry, rich dark fruits and cracked pepper flavours on the palate. Tannins are velvety.
Vinsobres “Les Cornuds”, Famile Perrin, Southern Rhône Valley, France, 2019
A bright and fresh style, with a mix of raspberry, cherry and red currant coulis flavors, underscored by light bramble and mineral accents. Shows good juicy energy through the finish, revealing latent depth. Grenache and Syrah.
Côtes du Rhône “Coudoulet de Beaucastel,” Famile Perrin, Southern Rhône Valley, France, 2020
The 2020 Cotes du Rhone Coudoulet de Beaucastel continues this cuvée’s hot streak. A blend of approximately 30% each Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah, with 10% Carignan, it boasts attractive floral overtones, hints of crushed stone, and ripe cherry fruit. Full-bodied and impressively silky for such a young wine, it should be drinkable upon release and for at least a decade thereafter.
Châteaunuef-de-Pape “Rouge” “Les Sinards”, Famile Perrin, Southern Rhône Valley, France, 2021
The family’s other Châteauneuf! Les Sinards is made from the fruit of young vines at Beaucastel and from a neighboring vineyard, also farmed by the Perrin family. Mostly Grenache with Mourvèdre and Syrah
Châteaunuef-de-Pape “Rouge”, Château de Beaucastel, Southern Rhône Valley, France, 2020
Beaucastel’s 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape is shaping up as a blend of 30% each Grenache and Mourvèdre, with 10% each Counoise and Syrah, plus 20% other permitted varieties, including a healthy proportion of white grapes. Complex and red-fruited, with hints of flowers and garrigue, it’s expansive and richly textured on the palate, finishing long and silky.
Châteaunuef-de-Pape “Rouge”, Château de Beaucastel, Southern Rhône Valley, France, 2017
At Beaucastel the Grenache and Cinsault are fermented in cement while the Syrah and Mourvèdre are fermented in foudre. The result features finely pixellated fruits of the forest on the nose, with a full-bodied but mightily fresh and lively palate. The Mourvèdre element is strong this year, bringing vibrancy and power. It’s firmly savoury, very dry and dramatic. A very tannic year has produced a seriously structured Beaucastel for the long term
Muscat Beaume de Venise, Famille Perrin, Southern Rhône Valley, France, 2020
Pretty yellow color with delicate green reflections. The very expressive and intense nose exudes notes of quince, rose, and lychee. It’s powerful yet balanced palate offers intense aromas of peach and white flowers. On the finish, a light, crunchy almond note brings freshness to this Muscat.
