A Morlet Family Vineyards
Luc and Jodie Morlet handcraft vins de terroir and unique cuvées from the surrounding Napa Valley and Sonoma Coast. Meticulously farmed vineyards and low-intervention winemaking techniques produce powerful yet refined wines displaying personality, complexity, and graceful aging capability. The Morlet style results in wines which are harmonious in their intensity, richness, and refinement. It is this notion of harmony that inspired their logo, based upon 19th century French artist Mathurin Moreau’s sculpture entitled, ‘L’Harmonie.’ Aged exclusively in French oak barrels from selected artisan coopers, the wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered. An unwavering commitment to quality leads to small yields, attentive sorting, and the highest standard when blending. Thus, a very limited amount of each wine is ever produced.
The historic estate is just north of the charming town of St. Helena. Luc and Jodie restored the pre-Prohibition winery, built in 1880, into a gravity-flow winemaking facility. Situated within the prestigious St. Helena appellation, this Cabernet Sauvignon hillside vineyard supplies the premium fruit for the ‘Morlet Estate’ label. Located in the world-renowned Oakville appellation, the To Kalon Creek meanders through Luc and Jodie’s Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard, from which the highly acclaimed ‘Force de la Nature’ ‘Force Tranquille’ & ‘Cœur de Vallée’ wines hail. On the foothills facing the western slopes of Mount St. Helena, Luc and Jodie’s Knights Valley vineyard provides the fruit for their ‘Mon Chevalier’ Cabernet Sauvignon. The warm and windy climate is ideal for the long ripening of the five Bordeaux varietals. In addition to their family-owned vineyards, they direct the farming under long-term contracts on vineyards located in the Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley, Bennett Valley, and Fort Ross-Seaview on the Sonoma Coast.
Born and raised in Champagne, France to a fifth-generation winegrowing family, Luc Morlet holds a master’s degree in Œnology along with a specialized degree in Viticulture and an MBA in Wine Business. Jodie Morlet earned a Master of Education from UCLA as well as a Certificat de Langue Française at the University of Paris, Sorbonne. She was an elementary school teacher for two decades before taking on the role of General Manager at the winery. This dynamic husband and wife duo are dedicated to remaining family owned and managed. Their daughter Claire, who received a Master of Science in Business Administration, joined the team a little over a year ago as the Member Relations & E-Commerce Manager.
Luc is the winemaker with the most 100-point wines across varietals and is recognized worldwide for his incredible talent. In 2024, he and Jodie opened the Morlet Wines International office in Bordeaux, France, furthering their global presence. The wines of Morlet Family Vineyards are available through an allocated Mailing List and at the finest restaurants and specialty wine shops around the world.
