Antonio Patricelli and Collefrisio Winery
Antonio Patricelli founded Collefrisio Winery in 2004 in Abruzzo, Italy, with a clear philosophy: to produce high-quality, sustainable wines using organic winemaking practices and no animal products throughout the production process.
Collefrisio is committed to making exceptional wine available at the right price while respecting the expectations of its customers and creating an incredible overall experience. Antonio believes in producing wines of great sensory balance, with a strong connection to the land and a focus on showcasing the authentic expressions of Abruzzo’s traditional grape varieties.
Abruzzo is one of Italy’s most distinctive and increasingly respected wine regions, located along the central Adriatic coast, east of Rome. It stretches from the Apennine Mountains to the Adriatic Sea, creating a remarkable combination of mountain, hillside, and coastal terroirs.
The region is best known for Montepulciano, the grape behind Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, one of Italy’s most important red wines. Despite the name, Montepulciano is not the same grape as Sangiovese, which is associated with the Tuscan town of Montepulciano.
Abruzzo benefits from the Adriatic Sea to the east and the Apennine Mountains to the west. The elevation of many vineyards, combined with cooling mountain breezes and maritime influences, helps preserve acidity and freshness while allowing the grapes to develop concentrated flavors.
The region also has a strong agricultural tradition and a growing reputation for organic and sustainable viticulture—making it an especially appropriate setting for the philosophy of Collefrisio Winery.
This special evening will feature six wines from Abruzzo, Italy personally presented by Antonio Patricelli, paired with a five-course dinner prepared by Chef/Proprietor John D’Amico and his staff.
Join us for an evening of exceptional food, distinctive wines, and an opportunity to meet one of Abruzzo’s passionate ambassadors of Italian wine.
